How to Renew Your Membership

MTAS members must renew their membership annually to maintain active status, liability insurance, and professional recognition.

Membership year runs from 
November 1 – October 31.
Renewal deadline: October 31.
Grace period: Until December 1
(no penalty).
Late fees: $90 + GST per month if renewing after December 1.

Failure to renew by December 30 results in membership cancellation.

Online Renewal Process

Step 1: Log in to Your MTAS Account

Visit the MTAS Member Portal and enter your login credentials.

Step 2: Complete Renewal Form

  • Update personal and business details if needed.
  • Confirm your continuing education credits meet the requirements.

Step 3: Pay Membership Fees

  • Payment options include:
  • Visa or MasterCard (processed online)
  • E-transfer to payment@saskmassagetherapy.com
  • Split Payment Plan available
  • Ensure all fees are paid before October 31 to avoid late penalties.

Continuing Education Requirements for Renewal

To remain in good standing, members must complete 40 competency credits every three years:

40 Primary Credits OR 33 Primary + 7 Business Credits
New Members: 2-year grace period (must complete at least 7 business credits)
Non-Practicing Members: CEU requirements adjusted per year of inactivity
Extensions available for extenuating circumstances ($265 + GST fee)

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I don't renew on time?

If you miss the October 31 deadline, a $90 late fee applies per month. If your membership lapses past December 30, you must reapply and pay a reinstatement fee of $230 + GST.

Can I reinstate my membership after cancellation?

If you've been inactive for less than 5 years, you can reapply and pay the reinstatement fee. If you've been inactive for more than 5 years, you must retake the Qualifying Exam.

Do I need to renew if I'm a non-practicing member?

Yes, non-practicing members must still renew annually to maintain their MTAS status. CEU requirements are reduced for non-practicing members.
