File a Complaint

MTAS is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards in massage therapy. If you have concerns about the conduct of an MTAS member, you can file a formal complaint through the MTAS Complaints and Discipline Process.

What MTAS Investigates

MTAS can review complaints regarding:

Unprofessional conduct (breach of the MTAS Code of Ethics)
Failure to comply with MTAS Standards of Practice
Concerns about client care or safety
Ethical violations in a professional setting

If a member is found to have violated professional standards, MTAS may take disciplinary action, which can include:

Reprimands or warnings

Suspension or termination of membership

What MTAS Does Not Investigate

MTAS cannot handle complaints related to:

Massage therapists who are NOT MTAS members
Financial disputes (e.g., billing or refund issues)
Criminal matters (e.g., harassment, fraud – these should be reported to law enforcement)

For concerns outside MTAS jurisdiction, complainants may be directed to the appropriate legal or regulatory body.

Confidentiality & Rights of Complainants

All complaints are kept confidential
Complainants have the right to be informed of the outcome
If necessary, complainants may be asked to provide further statements
