Graduates of a 2,200-hour massage therapy program.

To qualify for full Practicing Membership, applicants must:

• Graduate from a minimum 2,200-hour massage therapy program from a recognized school
• Submit a current (within 6 months) criminal record check including a vulnerable sector search
• Provide CPR Level C and Standard First Aid certification
• Pass the Member Qualifying Examination (MQE)
• Submit proof of liability insurance ($2 million minimum)

Therapists who are not currently practicing but want to maintain their MTAS membership can apply for Non-Practicing Membership.

$230 + Membership Fee

Therapists returning to practice after a membership lapse can apply for reinstatement.If absent for 5 years or less:

• Pay a $230 reinstatement fee
• Provide proof of liability insurance
• Submit updated CPR/First Aid certification

If absent for more than 5 years:

• Must retake and pass the MQE
• Provide continuing education records
• Pay applicable fees`
