MTAS Hosted Scar Tissue Webinar

April 30th

Scar Tissue - Not Breakable but Changeable, webinar : Registration

This is an MTAS hosted event.

Join highly-regarded BC instructor Catherine (Cathy) Ryan RMT for this practice-enhancing opportunity!

Cathy is the co-author or Traumatic Scar Tissue Management – Massage Therapy Principles, Practice and Protocols (Jessica Kingsley 2016), and chapter contributor in; Fascia, Function and Medical Applications (CDC Press 2020) and Oncology Massage: An integrative approach to cancer care for manual therapists (Jessica Kingsley 2021).

Surgery, cancer treatment, burns, sport injury, accidents … all can result in problematic scarring. What causes our natural repair process to go sideways?  Are there things massage/manual therapy professionals can do in the early stages of wound healing/scar tissue development to prevent or temper problematic scars from forming? What about long-standing scars - can our hands facilitate meaningful change?

Applying her 30+ years of evidence informed-massage therapy clinical experience, Cathy will endeavour to answer these and all of your pressing scar tissue questions.
