PAID POSITION FOR A WEEKEND RETREAT - APRIL 2013
My name is Donna Hundeby from Elbow, SK. I am on a planning committee for a Ladies Retreat being held April 12th-14th at Blackstrap Lake near Dundurn, SK. We would really like to hire a massage therapist for the weekend or even just for Saturday (13th) and are wondering if someone would be willing to drive out and provide that service.
The event is Christian-based weekend retreat for women of all ages organized by the women of Bethel Lutheran Church at Elbow. The venue for this annual event is Cedar Lodge, the hotel and conference center at Dundurn. Cedar Lodge is 40 kms south of Saskatoon directly off Highwa y 11 -- “75 acres of tranquility overlooking beautiful Blackstrap Lake.” The purpose of the event is to give women a chance to “get away” where they can be built up body, soul, mind, and spirit in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. We begin on the Friday night (which this year will be April 12th) with registration and end on Sunday (April 14th) just before lunch. An average of 50 women usually attend from several communities between Regina and Saskatoon.
We allow Saturday afternoons (from about 12 noon to 5:30 pm) as “free time” when women can go for a walk, have a manicure or pedicure, or book a massage. This is NOT a volunteer position – the therapist can set the treatment length and schedule, and how much will be charged for each session. In the past women have been happy with 20, 30, 45, or 60 min. time slots being available, but again, it is at the the rapist’s discretion and what he/she would deem to be a fair rate to charge. (Just as a guide, last year the therapist charged $40/hr.)
MTAS will provide the therapist(s) with an MTAS logo T-shirt, and promotional brochures are also available from the Association at no charge. If you would like to borrow the MTAS pop-up banner, that too is available, but you will need to pick it up from and return it to the office.
